What Therapy Might Feel Like Through Their Eyes
Walking into therapy shouldn't feel scary, for you or your child.
Evan, our therapist for all the kids and teens, spends time getting to know your child before expecting them to open up. Whether that's through conversation, games, creative activities, or simply talking about the things they love, he creates a space that feels comfortable instead of clinical.
We’ve learned that children grow best when they feel safe, connected, and genuinely enjoy being there. That's why therapy is built around your child's personality rather than forcing every child into the same approach.
Practical Skills They Can Use Every Day
Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Positive Behavior Support (PBS), Evan helps children develop practical skills they can use in everyday life.
Together, they'll learn how to:
Understand and express emotions
Communicate with confidence and respect
Manage ADHD symptoms and impulsive behaviors
Navigate frustration and disappointment
Develop healthy coping skills
Build confidence and resilience
Strengthen relationships at home and school
Our goal isn't simply to help your child feel better during therapy. It's to help them build tools they'll continue using as they grow.
Supporting Parents Along the Way
We know this can be a tough journey for you and your child. Nerves and anxiety may appear before the session even begins. Or your child might become more closed off during it. That’s normal.
This is a new change for everyone involved, so it will take time, expert support, and a welcoming environment for everyone to feel comfortable taking steps toward healing and change.
To help you feel more encouraged, each first session is done with the child and at least one parent. You will see open, consistent communication used throughout your child's care. And, you'll always have space to ask questions, better understand what your child is working on, and learn practical strategies you can continue using at home.
Meet Evan
Evan approaches therapy with honesty, authenticity, and a genuine curiosity about every child he meets. He doesn't expect kids to have all the answers or express themselves like adults. Instead, he meets them where they are, creating a space where they feel respected, understood, and comfortable enough to simply be themselves.
Many children, especially those with ADHD, are surprised by how much they enjoy coming to therapy. By making sessions engaging, interactive, and personalized to each child's interests, therapy becomes a place where growth happens naturally through connection and trust.
Faq’s-
If you've noticed changes in your child's emotions, behavior, relationships, or overall well-being, therapy can provide a supportive space to better understand what's going on. You don't have to wait until a situation becomes a crisis to reach out.
-
Yes. While your child has a space that's entirely their own, we believe parents are an essential part of the process. We'll communicate regularly, answer your questions, and provide guidance to help support your child's progress at home

Evan works with kids ages 5 to 18.

That's completely normal. Whether you or your child are feeling nervous, our first priority is helping everyone feel comfortable and safe. Many parents spend the first few sessions with their child to ensure comfort and safety. During every session, we move at your child's pace and focus on building trust before expecting them to open up.
